Building a Strategic Marketing Program to Unlock Organic Growth

Healthcare Finance Direct (HFD), a patient financing company, had grown steadily by relying on referring agents and traditional sales, but they were ready to generate leads organically and didn’t know where to begin.

Their brand, messaging, and web presence weren’t aligned to their buyer personas, and they lacked clarity about their position in the market. We partnered with HFD to diagnose the gaps, build a strategic playbook, and execute a multi-channel program spanning brand, website, inbound, and outbound initiatives to drive sustainable, measurable growth.

The challenge

HFD’s growth to date had come primarily from relationships and outbound efforts, not from a structured inbound engine. As they looked to scale, several issues stood in the way: misaligned brand and messaging, a website that spoke to the wrong personas and offered poor UX, and analytics that didn’t accurately reflect performance. They also lacked a refined understanding of their core audience segments and how to communicate HFD’s value to each one.

Without clear target personas or a consistent narrative, it was difficult to build campaigns that resonated with the right decision-makers and end users. HFD needed a repeatable way to understand their market, define messaging, and connect digital tactics back to business outcomes, rather than relying on ad hoc efforts.

The solution

We began with a structured discovery and diagnostic process, combining quantitative and qualitative analysis. On the quantitative side, we reviewed brand and competitive positioning along with site performance, SEO/SEM, conversion rates, and funnel diagnostics. On the qualitative side, we conducted stakeholder interviews with leaders, partners, customers, and lost opportunities to understand perceptions, pain points, and missed opportunities.

Using these inputs, we identified quick wins, then ran multidisciplinary ideation sessions to generate and prioritize strategic initiatives. The outcome was a comprehensive strategic playbook that answered key questions about the problem, the plan to solve it, required actions, measurement, and execution. This playbook covered the discovery recap, marketing strategy overview, campaigns and tactics, reporting methodology, solution architecture, and a detailed action plan.

From there, we moved into execution across brand and message, website design, inbound marketing, and outbound marketing. The execution phase included:

  • Refreshing HFD’s visual identity.
  • Clarifying key personas, with tailored messaging guidance for each.
  • Redesigning the website around clearer navigation and “How it works” content to better serve target audiences.
  • Launching inbound campaigns mapped to buyer pathways, supported by a social media playbook and posting schedule.
  • Architecting solution diagrams and campaign wiring so assets like the ROI calculator, landing pages, ebooks, and nurture emails connected into master workflows and reporting.

The results

This strategic program transformed HFD’s digital presence into a scalable growth engine. Key outcomes included:

  • Significant traffic growth — HFD’s new website and inbound program drove over a 10x increase in traffic within six months, from roughly 475 weekly users to more than 5,000.
  • Higher lead conversions — Lead conversions increased roughly 20x as campaigns, messaging, and on-site experiences aligned more closely with target personas.
  • Engaging lead capture — An ROI calculator and related assets gave prospects a way to engage without speaking to sales, captured structured data in HubSpot for lead scoring, and fed qualified leads into master nurture workflows.
  • Persona-informed campaigns — Clear personas and a strategic playbook enabled HFD to deploy audience-specific inbound and outbound campaigns, improving brand recognition and trust among the right stakeholders.
